She mentions it is difficult for an individual to be like others as everyone is different and needs to know their strengths and weaknesses. It is important to know yourself better in terms of different parameters like Aptitude, Interest, Intelligence and Personality. This will help you choose the next course of action for your career. To know yourself can be difficult at times she recommends to seek help of professional career counsellors who can identify these strengths and weakness through scientific methods like psychometric assessments and career counselings. Students should approach a qualified and experienced Psychologist to undergo these tests which will help them choose a course of study. While choosing the courses students should keep in mind the process for admission and colleges where these courses are available. She highlights that students should also know the alternate career routes, industry acceptability and the need for a backup plan for a successful career. She also highlights the importance of the resources available i.e the finances required for various courses and the time. It is in an individual’s hand to determine the scope and cannot limit it to a course or car.
